HISTORICAL
Grosse Pointe War Memorial
The Grosse Pointe War Memorial is a grand mansion previously owned by the Alger family in the early 1900's. In 1949, the building itself was dedicated to war veterans who gave their lives in World War II and to serve as a center for charitable events and continuing education. Today, over 5,000 events are held at the War Memorial annually, including lectures, classes, trips, luncheons, art shows, recitals and plays, as well as private events such as wedding receptions and showers.
